Outstanding Workmanship
Jack Mitchell and his team built our dream house for us 6 years ago, and we immensely enjoy our life here. Of course, the house is beautiful, but it is in everyday living that we have the opportunity to appreciate the excellent workmanship and extraordinary attention to detail that went into the construction of our home. From the way the floors were finished and the bathrooms were tiled, to the solid, comforting feel of the house when the storms rage outside. We find this a very livable house and a wonderful place to entertain friends.

When the house was being built, Jack patiently reviewed every aspect of the construction with us. He honored our requests, but suggested many improvements over our ideas. Not only did he have highly professional and talented subcontractors, he had excellent recommendations for us on things such as where to find a good selection of granite, or a kitchen designer.

During the construction, we made frequent visits to the job site. The crew was always courteous and took time to explain what they were doing. The site was maintained in such a way that the neighbors were supportive of the construction.

One of the best aspects of the construction process was that there were no surprises—we knew what to expect in terms of timing, cost, and quality.

When we were considering building, we were told that Jack Mitchell was the best contractor around. That reputation is well-deserved. His personal integrity, his thorough business approach, and his commitment to excellence are hallmarks of his company.

We would recommend Mitchell Construction to anyone building a home. Maybe he'll do another one for us someday, but we would never want to leave the beautiful place we have!

Made a Tough Job Run Smoothly
In 2000, we decided to look for a house on the water in Hull. As we looked around and asked people which builder to use, it was unanimous: Jack Mitchell. His vast knowledge of building on the water made this choice a "no brainer."

The new house Jack built for us was half on foundation and half on piles driven onto the beach. This was a daunting task that not too many people seemed to know much about. Jack handled the project with ease and took care of the entire process from start to finish.

All that you ever hear about contractors is "what a nightmare" it is to build a home or remodel one. Working with Jack and the entire crew at Mitchell Construction was an absolute dream. Their attention to detail and overall quality throughout the entire process was more than we could have hoped for.

Congratulations on twenty-five years in business! It doesn't surprise me. When Gerry and I decided to renovate our house in Hull, everyone we asked for contractor recommendations gave us the same name—Jack Mitchell.

One of the things that impressed me when we first started talking to you about our project was your realistic approach. We already knew the house was in bad shape, but we didn't know the extent of the problems. You were very clear that we weren't going to know exactly what needed to be done until you started pulling up flooring and opening up walls. When we discovered that basically the house was about to fall down you laid out our options and gave us very clear estimates of the expenses involved in each possible solution. And you were realistic about how long it was going to take.

We love our house. You helped us find a way to update it while still honoring the original structure. You were even able to salvage the original flooring in spite of the new floor plan. The end result of the renovation far exceeded our expectations. Who knew this little cottage could be so beautiful?

You have a terrific crew, and a wonderful group of subcontractors. The site was always tidy and safe, everyone was friendly and polite, and really cared about the end result of their work. I loved working with all of you.

And it didn't end with the completion of the renovation. You helped us find a landscaper, you've responded to middle of the night calls that our freeze alarm was going off, and you are always willing to manage routine maintenance and repairs for us.

A Pleasure to Do Business With
This was the first home I had ever built. I had heard all of the rumors of what a nightmare it could be. However, that was not my experience with Mitchell Construction.

Jack Mitchell and his crew could not have been more professional and helpful throughout the entire building process. My project was a total makeover. It included tearing down the existing building and rebuilding on the footprint. The project started in late November 1998 and I moved into a beautiful new, high quality home in early May 1999. Considering the winters in Hull, the project was finished by it's contractual completion date.

Jack would always return my phone calls. We had a good builder/customer relationship. I was especially impressed by the fact that once his crew started on the project they were there everyday until the project was finished. The "punch list" was also complete in a timely manner. One unforeseen weather related issue was rectified with no additional cost.

I would highly recommend Jack Mitchell Construction if you are looking for a honest professional who builds a quality home. It was a pleasure doing business with him.

Great Homebuilding Experience from Start to Finish
We purchased our first home in Hull in1968 and over the years we watched Hull go from a predominantly summer community with the vast majority of homes being summer cottages, to a year-round occupancy. Over the years we watched a number of contractors come and go.

After observing the quality of the finished projects that Mitchell Construction Co Inc. was completing in Hull over the years there was no doubt that we wanted Jack and his crew to build our home. They use quality materials and take no shortcuts in the process. They have knowledgeable people that work with you to produce a finished product you can be proud to say “I had Jack Mitchell build my home.”

Working with Jack and his crew was a pleasure from start to finish. The quality of the work was excellent, and was completed on schedule. The subcontractors showed up when scheduled and their work was done on time. The crew was on the job every day and didn't jump from project to project. Whenever we stopped by the job the crew was very helpful and they kept the job site clean and neat.

Jack was always available to answer any questions we had and he kept us up to date as to how the project was progressing and assisted with selection of interior finish which kept the project moving forward.

Building a house on the water has its own set of requirements, but Jack's experience made this process move along with ease. Jack guided us through the process with many helpful suggestions regarding the quality of materials to use when building on the water. If I had to go through this all over again, I would surely call Jack Mitchell to do the work.

Beautiful Home Addition
Congratulations of reaching your twenty-fifth year in business.

I was very satisfied with all aspects of the construction from the initial bidding phase through our final checklist. All employees of Mitchell Construction who had worked on my addition were pleasant and professional. They arrived early each morning and remained on the job all day until the addition was completed. At the end of each day, the crew left the workplace clean, which allowed me to live in my home during the construction.

During the course of home remodeling, problems and surprises can occur that many times cannot be anticipated in advance. When this occurred during my project, I was pleased to find that Mitchell Construction never took shortcuts to solve these problems at the expense of quality. I believe that all work was completed in the best possible manner to achieve long-lasting results. I also appreciated Jack, as owner, stopping by the project to supervise and monitor progress on a regular basis.
